Sushi? Tempura? Takoyaki? Indeed, these are unique dishes that Japan takes pride in presenting to the world. However, our food culture does not stop there. Throughout Japan, there are ‘local foods’ that offer unique flavors and histories, which can truly only be experienced in their place of origin.

What comes to mind when you think of Japanese food?

A blend of local traditions, history, climate, and produce has cultivated a distinct food culture in each region. These local foods might not be well-known abroad, but their depth, diversity, and above all, their deliciousness, will surely surprise you.

Japan is a country graced with the presence of four distinct seasons “Shiki” – spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
These varying seasons have fostered a diverse range of natural environments and cultures.
